Antonio Cordero, Ed.M., LPC

Therapist | Executive Coach

Antonio is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia, Florida and Michigan. He is also a Professional Executive Coach and works with clients throughout the United States. Antonio is a Boston University graduate with an Ed.M. in Counseling Psychology and a specialization in Sport Psychology. He provides therapy and performance coaching services for teens, young adults, adults, and couples, and works with athletes, performers, and professionals through evidence-based and cutting-edge modalities. Antonio also serves as a team therapist for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Antonio is trained in EMDR and Brainspotting (phase 1 and 2) and specializes in counseling for clients with a history of trauma, anxiety, performance anxiety, and mood disorders. In addition, he is trained in CBT, DBT, and Polyvagal Theory, and works from attachment-based, IFS, and EFT informed approaches in conjunction. Antonio is bilingual in Spanish and sees clients age 15 years old and up.

Antonio is bilingual in Spanish and has extensive experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, bipolar disorder, and mood disorders. He also has a passion working with clients on a variety of challenges including life transitions, cultural changes, men’s issues, career decisions, sport and performance coaching,  anger management, relationship concerns, and interpersonal difficulties. Antonio serves the LGBTQ+ community and welcomes clients of all backgrounds to his practice.

Antonio uses a relational, holistic, and scientific-based approach to support clients through the therapeutic process toward self-understanding and empowerment. This includes taking a deeper look at the client’s thoughts, feelings, actions, family dynamics, interpersonal relationships, and past experiences. Antonio is a Brainspotting trained therapist - a mindfulness-based processing modality to help gain insight into life experiences, reduce emotional and physical distress, and enhance performance. He has received specialized training in CBT, DBT, and Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), and utilizes Narrative, Family Systems, Psychodynamic, and Polyvagal Theory concepts to inform his interpretation of challenges brought forth by his clients and identify plans to overcome such.

Antonio believes in mutual collaboration between therapist and client to create a safe and dependable partnership that can provide clients with a solid foundation to make decisions and evaluate changes in their lives. He provides clients with time and space to reflect on issues and takes an active role in supporting his clients to reach their goals.

Antonio was born in Mishawaka, IN and was raised in Costa Rica. He grew up there until he moved back to the U.S. for his undergraduate studies at University of Southern Indiana and Franklin College, where he graduated with his BA and became a four-year NCAA college athlete playing for the men’s soccer team. Antonio currently resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan and enjoys watching sports, exercising, trying and cooking new food, hiking through nature, and getting to know new cities and national parks. He loves nature and his favorite places are the mountains and the beach, which he frequents with both friends and family.​
